The Orphan

"The Orphan" only 4 barrels were created from grapes of a dry grown vineyard with very low yield (1/2 ton per acre) and intense flavours. The vineyard has been removed to make way for new development. After gentle crush of the grapes and controlled fermentation it was put in 3 year old French and American oak to mature for 36 month before bottling.

Fruit: Sourced in the Barossa Valley.

Colour: Dense Profound ruby hue, brilliant with high intensity.

Nose: Full bodied, rich concentrated fruit flavours of plum, black currant, liquorice and dark chocolate a mouth fill palate with firm but very spicy tannins and rolling concentrated dark cherry flavours to the finish. Great length.

Comments:

Bottle may show some stains due to natural filtration.
Recommended decanting minimum 30min prior consumption.
To be enjoyed with gamey dishes, meat, pasta and matured cheese.
